Day 1 1 – Karlspitze, Jochspitze
In the early December, several members of AKA Praha climbers club set off for the first Splitboard-Skitour of the season in Niedere Taueren. It was not only the first sharp test of my new splitboard Burton S-Series, but also an interesting oportunity to compare this powder phenomenon with classic alpine touring skis. Finally, the question that I was long time wondering about, will be answered, The question is: – Is the spiltboard really an instrument equivalent to the classical touring ski?.

- Me and The Splitboard

Renča and Oskar - Skialpinisti
As a first goal at the beginning of the season, the mountain range mentioned above was chosen, Ski resort called Planneralm – friendly area with mild slopes and small peaks about 2000 meters. The first day we set out in the direction of KarlsPitze 2097m. The tour began on a forest road, which have soon introduced us to a valley, true paradise of scrub. It was already snowing heavily when we reached the ridge of Karslpitze in the harsh wind., The temperature was about -4 ° C. After a short top ridge tour we have achieved the final rocky parts. The skis had to go off here, so we continued only with poles through the few rocks to the summit, There was a great cross made of steel, guarding the summit book, already waiting for us...

- Kulička with the senior book
Thereafter a short descent followed, rapid change into the freeride positions and a final freeride to the valley.. Here we took the decission to conquest the neighboring peak as well, Jochspitze 2037 m. Climb the slope was quite pleasant due to the wind cessation. At the end of the ascent, there was a short view from the exposed edge to the opposite valley awaiting us.After a few seconds, the clouds hid everything again. The descent to the chalett was due to the lack of snow on the other side of the mountain, carried out in the same line as the ascent.
Day 2 – Plannerknot, Hochrettelstein
The second day I woke up with a strange flood - tide feeling in my head. The fourth bottle of wine last night was not entirely tactical, I guessed now.. It was a beautiful Sunday, with completely blue sky, so after a "quick" breakfeast we set out on a hike. Today's goal is Hochrettelstein 2220mnm. The climb leads firstly through a slight valley around Plannersee, after it gaining steepness, making us crawl up to the ridge of Plannerknot.

- Renča maka
Renča, who is full of enthusiasm, is doing the hard leading work most of the time. I watch, I am observing how tide in my head changes into bunch of konckers and I would prefer not to see myself. Finally we are reaching the ridge, and consequntly the node called Plannerknot, From here one branch of the ridge leads in western direction to the next possible target- Plannerseekarspitze.
